Jim Kay’s illustrated Harry Potter books are getting a digital release on Amazon Kindle, and they’re more than simple eBook conversions.

The illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s/Sorcerer’s Stone is making its Amazon Kindle debut on September 5, and each of the illustrations will have a bit of animation added to it. The physical edition of the book was released in October 2015.

As you can see in the demos below (thanks, Rowling Library), each piece of artwork has been updated so it has some subtle movement. What’s more, Pottermore says “readers can still tailor their reading experience, adjusting font sizes with the newly sized words magically reflowing around the animation and images, and, if they choose, toggle the animations off or on.”

These animated editions will only work on Kindle apps like the ones found on Apple’s iPad and Amazon’s Fire tablets. They will not work on standard Kindle eBook readers that use e-ink.

Also impressive? The price. The animated installments are only $9.99.

There’s no release date yet for Chamber of Secrets. Meanwhile, the physical Prisoner of Azkaban Illustrated Edition is due out this October.
