The first Harry Potter game for iOS and Android is out now. It’s time for you to experience all seven years at Hogwarts!

Jam City and Portkey Games released Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery on Wednesday, April 25. Grab it here on iOS and here on Android.

Hogwarts Mystery lets fans become a student (in whatever house they choose!) during the 1980s. To be precise, the game is set after Voldemort’s first downfall — Dumbledore mentions this in his opening speech. The game involves a lot of tapping certain buttons to make progress, but adorable characters, sharp graphics, and the appeal of life at our favorite Wizarding School all make for a fun time.

The titular “mystery” concerns your brother’s whereabouts. Though this is the overarching question during your time as a student, it’s hardly the focus. Your primary goal is educating yourself to become a great Witch or Wizard.

Players can take classes, learn spells, duel, make potions, and take on other wizardly activities. There are many recognizable faces in the game. In addition to older characters like McGonagall and Ollivander, there are also younger ones like Bill and Tonks who are students during this period.

And there’s more: Maggie Smith (Professor McGonagall), Michael Gambon (Albus Dumbledore), and Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick) have all recorded dialogue for the game.

“If I could attend Hogwarts as a student, I would be most excited to attend the potions class taught by Severus because it is the most exotic,” said Dame Maggie Smith in a press release.

“Our goal with Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is to make players really feel for the first time like they’re attending Hogwarts,” said Chris DeWolfe, co-founder and CEO of Jam City. “By including these iconic and incredibly talented actors in the game, we come one step closer to truly giving fans their own Hogwarts experience.”

Hogwarts Mystery is the first of several planned games for mobile and consoles under WB’s new Portkey Games banner. A Pokemon Go-like game is also in the works and is expected to debut later this year.
