A nice honor is coming up for many people working behind-the-scenes of the Harry Potter films, including author J.K. Rowling herself.

Today it was announced that Rowling, David Heyman, David Baron, and others will receive the Art Directors Guild’s Outstanding Contribution to Cinematic Imagery Award!

What’s more: It’s the first time the award has been given to numerous people at one time:

Honorees will include producers David Heyman and David Barron, director David Yates, author J.K. Rowling, screenwriter Steve Kloves, production designer Stuart Craig, art director Neil Lamont and set decorator Stephanie McMillan. Each awardee worked on multiple films in the series, with Rowling, Heyman, Kloves, Craig and McMillan being with it from the first film, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in 2001. Director Yates worked on the final four films in the series.

This is the first time the ADG has presented its Cinematic Imagery Award to a series of films. Previous recipients of the award have included Warren Beatty, Clint Eastwood, Blake Edwards, Terry Gilliam, Ray Harryhausen, Norman Jewison, John Lasseter, George Lucas, Frank Oz and Steven Spielberg.

And yet, still no Oscar?! The award will be presented to the recipients in February in Beverly Hills. No word yet on who exactly will attend, but we presume Rowling will not be one of them.

Thanks to The Hollywood Reporter for the details.
