Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling announced today that The Tales of Beedle the Bard is now available as an eBook through the Pottermore Shop.

In making the announcement, Rowling spoke about how your purchase will benefit The Lumos Foundation.

Lumos was founded by Rowling in 2006. She explains in the video the work Lumos does. “All proceeds from the sale of the book go to Lumos, the charity I founded to help the 8 million children trapped in institutions around the world,” the author says. “These instu are incapable of adequately caring for children, robbing them of their childhoods and their institutions.”

“Lumos works to transform systems of caring for children, closing institutions, reunited families, and preventing other children from being institutionalized at all. Your donation not only helps individual children now, but also ensures the future for generations to come.”
