The cast members of the upcoming stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child — featuring 42 actors — have been unveiled.

While that’s all well and good, there’s one major issue with today’s announcement: The play declined to share who these actors are playing. Torture! Luckily, Pottermore says today that some of the characters will be unveiled “very soon.”

The Cursed Child’s full cast can be seen below. The play’s creators and people close to the production, including J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, John Tiffany, Sonia Friedman, and Neil Blair are seen in the photo with the actors (click for a larger view):

Rehearsals for The Cursed Child began today, February 26. The play’s synopsis reads, “It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children. While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.”

As announced earlier this month, The Cursed Child’s script will be published in a book on July 31, which is Harry Potter and J.K. Rowling’s birthdays. It’ll offer fans around the world the opportunity to enjoy the story without having to travel to London to see the show.

The stage play officially begins performances on July 30, though preview performances will begin June 7. Visit the play’s website to learn more.
