Over the past week, a viral video set to “Harlem Shake” by Baauer has led to numerous versions of the same video, and, well, we’re confused.

In what can only be seen as the next “Gangnam Style,” the series of “Harlem Shake” viral videos are blowing up.

In the first video, four males began the dance with pelvic thrusts before moving to more crazy moves after the drop of the bass. In the second and subsequent versions, only one dancer dances at the beginning of the video while the other people around seemingly don’t notice what is going on. After the bass drops in these versions, all dancers begin to dance wildly, and have usually added a ridiculous costume.

The enormity of this is baffling. Who’s to say why a second video got made, much less all the parodies that have come after it (there are at least over 100 “Harlem Shake” parodies). Regardless, these viral videos are highly enjoyable, and though we don’t quite get it, we love it. If only we had our own offices. We’re sure you would have loved the Hypable version.
