A brand new red band trailer and poster for Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters have arrived online, giving a bloody glimpse at the upcoming fairy tale re-imagining starring Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton.

Paramount sent over the red band trailer, which has debuted on IGN. Take a look at the fiery, bloody trailer below.

Originally scheduled for a release earlier this year, Paramount pushed back Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters to January 2013, which is definitely not a good sign when trying to gauge the quality of a film. Although Paramount says the reasoning was to get the film onto 3D IMAX screens.

Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters is directed by Tommy Wirkola (Dead Snow), with Famke Janssen (X-Men), Peter Stormare (Fargo), Derek Mears (Friday the 13th) and Thomas Mann (Project X) co-star in the film that is described as “a dark action movie that picks up with the fairy tale siblings (Renner and Arterton) years after the traumatic childhood incident has turned them into bounty hunters.”

This red band trailer arrives after the studio was reportedly considering recutting the film to get a PG-13 rating. It seems, however, that they’ve done the opposite and embraced the more grisly aspects of the film, which should please some skeptics. Paramount should have their answer sooner rather than later, as the marketing storm for the film appears to have commenced once again.
