Composer Hans Zimmer, who scored The Dark Knight trilogy and Man of Steel, may be joining Batman VS Superman and he also weighs in on Ben Affleck being cast as Batman.

Famed composer Hans Zimmer recently spoke with Red Carpet News and discussed potentially scoring the Man of Steel sequel, which will include actor Ben Affleck playing Batman. Since Zimmer scored The Dark Knight trilogy, he will have the difficult task of separating the two styles.

He’ll most likely stick with what we heard in Man of Steel, but he even admits in the interview that he’ll “have to think about that one.” It’ll be interesting to see what he comes up with for our new Batman if he does decide to join the production which recently announced that it will be filming in Michigan. Hans Zimmer also said that he felt Ben Affleck was a great choice for Batman, saying, “He’s a great filmmaker, he’s smart – he wouldn’t have taken it if he [was] setting himself up for a fall. He’s a bit older these days and that’s what we need. And he’s got a good chin.”

It seems more people in Hollywood are feeling like Affleck is a solid choice to continue the Batman franchise and we look forward to hearing Zimmer’s soundtrack for Batman VS Superman if he does end up signing on.

We’re optimistic that if the script is solid, Ben is certainly capable of pulling off the difficult role along with Henry Cavill, who will reprise his role as Superman. Batman VS Superman’s release date is set for July 7, 2015.
