The Star Wars anthology film about Han Solo has officially begun filming! Director Chris Miller marks the start of production by releasing a clever ‘first look’ image.

The second planned Star Wars anthology movie, following a young Han Solo (played by Alden Ehrenreich), is now in production.

Our already high hopes for this film have pretty much sky-rocketed after the success of Rogue One, and we have full faith in directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord — whose work on The Lego Movie certainly proved their dramatic and comedic talents.

Miller further adds to the expectation that this movie will be a somewhat more lighthearted experience than Rogue One by revealing the film’s working title: ‘Red Cup,’ which of course references the Red Solo Cup, a (to all our international readers) staple of your typical American party:

The tweet reads “Han First Shot,” which is of course also a reference to the never-ending debate within the Star Wars fandom about whether or not ‘Han shot first.’ (The cliffsnotes version: In the original cut of Star Wars (1977), Han Solo shoots Greedo before Greedo has a chance to retaliate, whereas in George Lucas’ 1997 remastered edition, Greedo shoots at Han before Han shoots and kills him. It’s a whole thing.)

Han Solo: Red Cup (probably not the final title, though who knows with these guys?) also stars Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, with Emilia Clarke and Woody Harrelson. The movie is set a May 25, 2018 release.
