John Krasinski returned with episode 2 of Some Good News, highlighting uplifting news from around the world and unveiling a #Zoom reunion of the Hamilton cast!

The reunion came as a way to cheer up Aubrey, a young fan of Hamilton whose plans to see the musical in New York were canceled because of the pandemic.

John Krasinski began the segment of his feel-good web series by saying that he and his wife, Emily Blunt, would be giving young Aubrey tickets and airfare to see Hamilton in Manhattan once the statewide quarantine lifts.

However, Lin-Manuel Miranda then joined the show via Zoom and promised Aubrey that he could top that offer right that moment.

He then launched into a performance of the opening number of Hamilton, with Leslie Odom Jr. (Aaron Burr), Daveed Diggs (Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson), Christopher Jackson (George Washington), Phillipa Soo (Eliza Schuyler) and Anthony Ramos (John Laurens and Philip Hamilton) soon joining the chat to give a live Zoom performance to the young, starstruck fan.

The group then brought on others from the cast, including Renée Elise Goldsberry (Angelica Schuyler), Jasmine Cephas Jones (Peggy Schuyler and Maria Reynolds) and Okieriete Onaodowan (Hercules Mulligan and James Madison).

Some Good News first came together on Twitter, where John Krasinski put out a call for any stories that have made people feel good this week or any things that have just made them smile.

Twitter responded to that call, compiling all the best feel-good stories and uplifting news items. The show debuted last week, with the former star of The Office donning his best suit jacket and tie and giving fans a 15-minute dose of good news to lift their spirits.

That first episode likewise featured a mini reunion of The Office, as Krasinski called Steve Carell — his entertainment correspondent — halfway through the show to reminisce about their time together on the iconic mockumentary show.
