AMC has released the first episode of their upcoming tech drama Halt and Catch Fire via Tumblr and other outlets so you can watch online for free.

Halt and Catch Fire is available now via Tumblr, AMC.com, and your cable box’s OnDemand service. The network released the premiere episode to grab the interest of people who would potentially watch it on a weekly basis on their TV channel when it begins in June. Tumblr is a natural home for the show to debut given its tech angle.

You can watch Halt and Catch Fire season 1, episode 1, titled “I/O,” over on AMC’s website. The synopsis for the premiere reads, “The 1980s computing boom through the eyes of a visionary, an engineer and a prodigy as they chart the changing culture in Texas’ Silicon Prairie.”

Halt and Catch Fire will air Sundays beginning June 1 at 10 p.m. eastern/pacific on AMC.

After you watch the episode, let us know: What’d you think of the season 1 premiere?

Earlier this week we brought you an exclusive first look at the new series in which we’re introduced to a particular character who decides to give himself a second chance at computing glory.

The show “captures the rise of the PC era in the early 1980s, during which a renegade trio — a visionary, an engineer and a prodigy — risk it all to realize their vision of building a computer that could change the future,” according to Halt and Catch Fire’s official description. “The series charts the changing culture of Texas’ Silicon Prairie while tensions build within the group as they attempt to navigate the thin line between visionary and fraud and genius and delusion, and as their drive to do something that matters runs up against their ability to truly innovate.”
