The slew of new releases continues this week with Halo 4 and the return of Master Chief under a new developer.

The game of the week should be no surprise. Microsoft’s signature series starts a new trilogy, this time under 343 Industries, developers of last years Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary. The game has looked spectacular leading up to this point and critical reception has been solid. The most impressive aspect seems to be the new Spartan Ops cooperative mode that will be updated on a weekly basis. Even those who are not already fans of the series should look twice before passing it up.

Sony is not without a console exclusive of its own this week as LittleBigPlanet Karting hits store shelves. If you played 2010’s ModNation Racers, expect more of the same with a LBP skin as United Front Games has been handed development duties. If you’re in the mood for a kart racer, look no further.

Finally, if you’ve managed to miss the Mass Effect trilogy thus far, you’ll have another chance as the whole trilogy has been packaged together, except for PlayStation 3 users who will have to wait until December.

Side note: the Wii U comes out in less than two weeks. Who’s excited?
