The first trailer for Guns Akimbo features Samara Weaving kicking tons of ass and Daniel Radcliffe with literal gun hands.

A few years ago, a picture popped up on the internet of Daniel Radcliffe looking completely distressed while wearing a bathrobe and holding two guns in his hands.

After we all confirmed that it was for a movie he was shooting and not Daniel Radcliffe in the midst of a harrowing quarter-life crisis, the memes began, providing a kind of viral marketing for Guns Akimbo, which then was in the early days of filming.

Nearly two years later from when those pictures were first released, and Guns Akimbo is finally here, which means now we can see the context behind why Daniel Radcliffe is running around in a bathrobe and fuzzy slippers with guns in his hands.

Check out the absolutely bonkers trailer below, followed by the official synopsis!

Nerdy video game developer Miles is a little too fond of stirring things up on the internet with his caustic, prodding, and antagonising comments. One night, he makes the mistake of drunkenly dropping an inflammatory barb on a broadcast of Skizm, an illegal death-match fight club streamed live to the public. In response, Riktor, the maniacal mastermind behind the channel, decides to force Miles’ hand (or hands, as it were) and have him join the “fun.” Miles wakes to find heavy pistols bolted into his bones, and learns Nix, the trigger-happy star of Skizm, is his first opponent.

The viciously violent and hilariously dark film has been described as a mix of Edgar Wright’s Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, the Purge franchise, and videogames like Mortal Kombat, and comes to us from the demented mind of Deathgasm director Jason Lei Howden.

Guns Akimbo stars Daniel Radcliffe as Miles, Ready or Not breakout star Samara Weaving as Nix, and Good Omens ’ Duke of Hell Ned Dennehy as Riktor.

Guns Akimbo will hit theaters on Feb. 28, 2020.
