One of horror’s greatest filmmakers is setting up a new anthology series at Netflix.

Director Guillermo Del Toro and Netflix have announced 10 After Midnight, “a collection of personally curated stories, that are both equally sophisticated and horrific.” It is the streamer’s first anthology series*, but not their first GDT collaboration — the Oscar-winning director produces their animated series Trollhunters.

Serving as creator and executive producer, del Toro will “bring his own visionary style as both a writer and director to certain episodes. In addition, he will hand pick a team of the genre’s best writers and exciting new filmmakers to bring his selection of stories to life.”

The flexibility of Netflix combined with the wild mind of del Toro should create for a mind-boggling new series. We can’t wait, but it might be a while until we get to see it — the series doesn’t have a release date at this time.

*Netflix is the home of the popular series Black Mirror, though the show didn’t originate there.
