Getting Guild Wars 2 withdrawal symptoms? Developer ArenaNet has revealed the date of the latest Guild Wars 2 beta weekend event (BWE2) and some of the changes to the beta version of the game. There’s not much longer to wait before you can enter Tyria once more.

BWE2 will run from 3 p.m. EDT on Friday, June 8 to 3 a.m. EDT on Monday, June 11. Customers who have pre-purchased the game will be able to hop onto the servers of the fantasy MMO and play their characters from the last beta weekend event, or entirely new characters.

Chris Whiteside, lead producer of Guild Wars 2, spoke briefly of the improvements players will see come June 8:

We have listened intently to all of your feedback from our first Beta Weekend Event, and we’ve made great strides toward resolving many of the issues you’ve helped us identify. These include party movement into overflow servers, chat functionality, key bindings, server stability, performance, and many more that we will detail in the near future.

The post also reminds players to keep an eye out for other chances to obtain beta keys – follow the Guild Wars 2 Facebook and Twitter pages to keep updated. You can read Whiteside’s full post on the ArenaNet blog

Remember, the only way to guarantee beta access is to pre-purchase the game, either through ArenaNet’s website or from its retail partners.

Guild Wars 2 will be released for PC later this year.

Have you pre-purchased?
