Disney XD’s Guardians of the Galaxy television series is slowly announcing its voice cast this week, and this morning they unveiled who’ll play the lead hero.

Will Friedle, best known as Cory’s older brother Eric on Boy Meets World and its recent spinoff Girl Meets World, will star as Star-Lord in the upcoming series.

Friedle is no stranger to voice acting. He’s had roles in a series of animated television shows over the years including Transformers: Robots in Disguise, Green Arrow, Kim Possible, Thundercats, and Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

Watch the actor make the announcement (and discover what Eric is looking like these days) below:

Update: Disney XD also announced on Wednesday that David Sobolov will voice Drax.

Yesterday Disney XD announced that Kevin Michael Richardson will star as Groot (is voicing an animated Groot the best/easiest job in the history of television?) and Trevor Devall will voice Rocket Raccoon.

In case you’re curious what Groot will sound like, here’s Richardson giving us a little tease while making his announcement:

Details about the show are still light, but Disney and Marvel have promised that the show will tell us more about the characters we fell in love with in theaters. Additional cast announcements are expected soon.

Marvel’s live-action Guardians of the Galaxy opened in theaters last August and quickly became a huge hit. The film’s director, James Gunn, is currently at work on the sequel which is slated to hit theaters May 5, 2017.

We’re excited for the Guardians television series because it’ll be a great way to feed our hunger for more Star-Lord and co. while we wait over two years for Marvel’s theatrical sequel.
