Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt visited the L.A. Children’s Hospital yesterday wearing his Star-Lord costume to help brighten the day of children staying at the hospital.

Groot may have ended up being the most memorable character from Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, but Chris Pratt is apparently a real life superhero.

The actor also voiced the lead character Emmet in The Lego Movie, which we imagine was a huge surprise for his young fans when he visited the L.A. Children’s Hospital yesterday.

Below you can see an image that the hospital tweeted of Pratt wearing his Star-Lord vest, while lending his character’s trench coat to one of the young boys at the hospital.

The actor reportedly “stole” his costume from the film so that he could visit children in hospitals and he finally got his wish. Pratt paid a special visit to a young patient named Dylan, who calls himself “Lego Kid.”

The young boy has a mitochondrial disease and earlier this year the Make-a-Wish Foundation helped him get a LEGO replica of the hospital which he says, “is like the best pain medicine.”

Of course Dylan was fully aware of Pratt voicing Emmet, so he signed multiple gifts for Dylan who of course has The Lego Movie sheets in his room as seen below:

After showing a special screening of Guardians of the Galaxy at the L.A. Children’s Hospital, the actor visited patients in the Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases, the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit and the Pediatric ICU, as the majority of those patients were unable to join the movie screening earlier that day.

Chris Pratt has definitely gained some respect from us, as there are only a few images of the actor doing his part to bring a smile to the faces of young patients at the hospital and they’re all clearly fan pictures. Which means one thing: This guy is the real deal.

Bravo Star-Lord, you’re a true superhero.
