TGIT is finally back! Here’s a roundup of what happened on the Grey’s Anatomy season 14 premiere and the How To Get Away With Murder season 4 premiere!

Need a refresher on what went down last season? Check out our recaps of Grey’s Anatomy season 13 and HTGAWM season 3!

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 14 premiere:

Grey’s Anatomy 14×01 “Break Down The House”

Meghan and Owen are reunited, and reveals that she was treated well by her captors thanks to her skills as a surgeon. She also has a really messed up wound on her stomach thanks to shrap metal.

Bailey and Weber don’t believe that Meghan’s injuries can be fully healed, but Meredith is up to the challenge.

Meghan also drops a bomb that she has to go back to Iraq as soon as she can because her child is there. She took him in when he was 4, and now he’s 10.

The hospital is open, but still has areas that aren’t open due to the damage from the fire.

Weber gets a group of interns dropped on him that Minnick arranged, and they’re all a bit obnoxious.

And Teddy’s back! Everyone’s excited, but she’s especially helpful for Owen to help supports him while Amelia is avoiding him again.

Christina gets a shout out when Meredith was reading an article of hers.

Alex was trying to win back Jo by giving her solo surgeries but still hasn’t told her about hiring someone to find her husband. Jo is totally falling for Alex again anyways.

Before Owen or Riggs gets the chance, Meredith decides to tell Meghan about her past relationship with Riggs. But Meredith explains to Meghan that Derek was her one great love.

After hours in surgery, Meredith finds out that she can’t clothes Meredith’s wound all the way.

DeLuca awkwardly walks back in on Arizona and his sister fooling around.

Grey’s Anatomy 14×02 “Get Off On The Pain”

After the failed surgery, Meredith starts to destroy the breakroom. Maggie wants to check on her, but Weber advises against it, they go inside to find it all wrecked along with Meredith’s emotions.

Owen is relieved that Meghan can’t go back to Iraq right away, even though that means a longer healing process.

Meredith comes up with the idea to do an abdominal wall transplant instead of trying to keep fixing Meghan’s, and asks for Teddy to scrub in with her.

Jackson confronts April about what she said to Maggie, but April just avoids him. But when Maggie tries to Jackson, he avoids her too.

DeLuca’s sister meets with Bailey to get support on a study she wants to conduct, all about the effect on a woman’s brain during orgasms. Since Bailey is the feminist hero we all love, she agrees.

Owen gets corned by all the ladies in life when they worry that his marriage is a sham. Teddy agrees with Meghan that something isn’t right. Owen still defends Amelia though. He does go to talk to her but it only pisses her off when he suggests that Amelia needs therapy.

Meredith pulls of the surgery and everyone is amazed, including Meghan. Amelia also manages to remove the tumor from her patient, and got lucky that Jackson was able to fix the jaw she took apart. He also basically threatens to report her to the medical board if she does something like that again.

After his rejection from Amelia, Owen tries to kiss Teddy. They make out for a hot second before she stops him. He’s still the one for her but she doesn’t want something between them to start when he’s still married. And Riggs tries to propose to Meghan, but she turns him down – believing that he’s still in love with Meredith.

Amelia signs up to help the orgasm study, and it reveals a big tumor on her brain.

‘How To Get Away With Murder’ season 4 premiere:

The Keating 5 are back! Well, except they look a little different now. In How to Get Away with Murder season 4, episode 1, Annalise called Michaela, Connor, Laurel, Asher, and Bonnie together for a “last supper.”

But, family first. In How to Get Away with Murder season 3, Annalise discovered that her mother was suffering from dementia. Now that Annalise is out of prison and those pesky murder charges have been dropped, she can finally try to help her family.

How to Get Away with Murder season 4, episode 1, showed Annalise more connected to her family than ever before. We saw how terrified she is of losing her mother, how much she appreciates her sister, and most of all, how much she needed her father’s apology. Even though her conversation with her mother was heartbreaking, her trip home clearly restored her.

When she stood up in that courtroom to fight for her right to practice law, it really felt like, for the first time in a while, the old Annalise was back. She’s clearly been changed by everything she’s gone through, particularly losing Wes, but she’s ready to keep fighting.

As for everyone else, they’re not ready to stop fighting either. Honestly, I expected everyone to be ecstatic when Annalise cut them lose, but that wasn’t the case.

Connor has basically been begging for this since season 1, but his expression didn’t match that anticipation. These people really have become his family. Speaking of Connor’s family, while we didn’t get the answer that we wanted to Oliver’s proposal, at least they’re in a great place, heading into season 4. Even if Oliver was completely left out of the last supper, despite everything he’s done for them.

Laurel’s got other things on her mind, namely, a baby, but she’ll definitely need Annalise and the rest of the gang if she ever decides to take down her father. Laurel’s big on justice, and she loved Wes, so even though we’re talking about her own flesh and blood, I’m sure she has a plan.

Michaela and Asher are still going strong, and are still miraculously concerned about their futures. While Michaela’s protestations centered around her resume, I’m guessing she’s feeling a lot more hurt about being abandoned than she’s letting on. At least she has her white Barack to help her through it!

The most shocking tie to be cut was definitely Bonnie’s. She’s stood by Annalise through absolutely everything. The question now is, is she going to Denver to get revenge on Annalise, or is she still trying to help her by doing recon?

If everyone’s still fighting, Frank certainly isn’t the exception. He was a very broken man at the end of How to Get Away with Murder season 3, but he’s now surprisingly confident that he’ll win everyone over. Also, it looks like his confidence is warranted, since Laurel didn’t seem too upset to see him, in the hospital!

Now if we only knew what the hell was going on with that therapist…
