The Grey’s Anatomy season 13 premiere is still weeks away, but we already know what the episode will be focusing on!
A lot happened in the Grey’s Anatomy season 12 finale, but Jo and Alex fans in particular were in for a shock. The couple has definitely been shaky but now it seems like the odds are even more stacked against them.
When Jo couldn’t give Alex a reason for why she won’t marry him, he decided to leave. That had Jo heading for the bar and getting in an awkward position with DeLuca when he tried to take care of her drunken state.
Drunk Jo revealed to DeLuca that the reason she can’t marry Alex is that she’s actually already married, and her real name isn’t even Jo. It just so happens that Alex walked in at just the wrong time when it looked like Jo and DeLuca were about to hook up.
At the ABC Television Critics Association press tour, star Caterina Scorsone revealed to TV Line that the Grey’s Anatomy season 13 premiere will pick up right where we left off. That means Owen and Amelia will be busy with their wedding night celebrations so the drama will focus on the other characters.
Scorsone teased “a huge storyline focusing on Alex and Jo.” It’s not yet clear if that will be more trouble between them or if it will bring them closure together. The last time Jo faced an abuser, Alex didn’t hesitate to protect her. The question is, will he be the same this time around?
“That’s going to become a really multi-layered story that has social and personal overtones,” Said Scorsone. “It’s a real opportunity to explore some important issues.”
ABC also recently released the official season 13 poster that features Meredith’s face split in half with the Seattle skyline.
Many fans were trying to decode the art, but Shonda Rhimes said it’s just a cool poster.
