The hunt for the new chief of surgery
Miranda Bailey should be the new chief of surgery at Grey Sloan Memorial. This is a no brainer. But Catherine Avery wants to be sure that she still has some sway when it comes to in house promotions. Enter guest star Joey Adams as Avery’s choice to compete against Bailey for the position.
Little ducklings
The interns are making a comeback this season as Grey’s Anatomy ushers in a fresh gaggle of young doctors. A few of the faces we met at the tail end of last season including a mini-Mark Sloan lookalike. We are now taking submissions to name the new hottie of Grey Sloan Memorial.
There is also a new setting this season. Welcome to the cadaver lab.
It looks like every attending is going to have a hard time resisting the charms of Andrew DeLuca. They certainly did not question his confidence last season. But he still has quite a bit of learning to do.

Home, sweet home
Meredith said farewell to her glass house in the woods at the close of last season. Now that Alex and Lexi are heading out of Ellis’ home, there is room for Meredith, her children, and her sister Maggie.
In house direction
The first episode back is keeping it all in the family. Kevin McKidd may be ready to give up control of the hospital in his role as acting Chief of Surgery, but for the Grey’s Anatomy season 12 premiere, McKidd takes control of the episode as the director.
“Sledgehammer,” will focus on two patients, young girls, who remind the doctors of their own encounters with bullying. Meanwhile, Jackson prepares for April’s return from another tour of duty.
