Reign fans, Lord Julian is getting his medical degree! Maybe. Giacomo Gianniotti is heading to Grey’s Anatomy.

Has anyone seen the interns lately? They may have a new member as Giacomo Gianniotti’s agents confirm that the actor is heading to Grey’s Anatomy for a possible reoccurring role. According to TV Line, the former Lord will begin in season 12, confirming what everyone expected, the show will go on.

Gianniotti enjoyed a short-lived run on ABC’s Selfie, but is known for his role as Lord Julian/Remy on the CW’s Reign. His role was recurring through season 1. The series was picked up for a third season in January.

Giacomo Gianniotti’s role will most likely place him as an intern at Grey Sloan Memorial. In the most recent episode of Grey’s Anatomy Richard is seen toting around a pack of interns, none of whom were given a line to their credit. In fact, most of season 11 is focused on the drama of the third year residents, attendings, and the chief. Gianniotti’s may bring the show back to basics.

Cast members signed on through season 12 include, Patrick Dempsey, Ellen Pompeo, Sara Ramirez, Justin Chambers, Chandra Wilson, and James Pickens Jr. We expect to see many familiar faces in season 12 and beyond, but this may be the last season you can expect to see some of the remaining members of the old guard.

There is still plenty of drama to come this season as this week’s episode asks, “Where is Derek?”
