After a surgery that would train her to peel back layers of a tumor, Shepherd put Herman’s surgery in perspective. All the opportunities for training, whether they were on another patient or on a cadaver are going to be for the greater good.

Herman has come to terms with what may be her final weeks in the hospital by squeezing Arizona like a sponge and taking in all the juicy gossip. Set up in the lounge with the attendings’ couch, Herman and Arizona start to build a friendship.

Amelia on the other hand is not willing to let Dr. Herman’s outcome be anything other than optimistic.
