With one doctor gone, another may be stepping in to keep the cast numbers high. Grey’s Anatomy will welcome Joe Adler in the final two episodes of season 11.

Grey’s Anatomy is not done introducing new doctors, interns, or patients just yet. Though it seems almost inconceivable that viewers are about to be subjected to yet another round of interns, the orientation is on its way to Grey Sloan Memorial. The latest addition will be Joe Adler, fresh off his run on The Mentalist as Jason Wylie, an FBI agent who specializes in computers. Adler also starred in last summer’s adaptation of The Maze Runner.

While the actual details of Adler’s role are under wraps, fans can expect his debut to coincide with a crisis in Seattle. During the final two episodes a catastrophic event will shake the hospital and force all the doctors to be on high alert. If Adler is joining the show as a doctor in training, he will more than likely have to hit the ground at a full sprint when he enters the hospital doors.

Adler is the second character to be announced with a multi-episode arc for the upcoming season and next season. He joins Giacomo Gianniotti, who is believed to have been cast as a new intern for season 12.
