Grey’s Anatomy stars Chandra Wilson and Kevin McKidd talk season 10 and what challenges lay ahead for their characters.

At the end of Grey’s Anatomy season 9, Bailey was struggling with the fact that she had inadvertently killed several of her patients. It wasn’t until Meredith was dying on the operating table with an inexperienced intern that Bailey dove back into surgery.

However, that doesn’t mean that Bailey will be jumping back into things when season 10 pickups. According to E! Online she’s still going to be dealing with the heavy responsibility of her patient’s deaths.

Chandra Wilson explains Bailey’s thoughts going forward, “It lives with her. Her hands are her most important thing.”

Kevin McKidd also revealed some details on Owen and Cristina’s relationship in season 10 when he spoke with Huffington Post. Although Owen didn’t agree with Cristina’s decision to end their relationship in season 9, he’ll quickly see she’s right.

“I think he’s a bit behind her, but he catches up to her decision pretty quickly. They’re going to be in a place of not togetherness for a while,” explains McKidd. Of course, that doesn’t mean they won’t eventually start heating things back up.

Per usual, fans can expect some back and forth with the pair. “The thing with Cristina and Owen is they’re always going to be connected,” says McKidd. “So it’s really complicated. But Owen is definitely going to explore what it means to have a baby and start making moves towards that, later in the season I think.”

The actor also revealed he’ll be stepping into the directors chair again this season, starting with episode 8. In the episode he spills a “key character” comes back who will be involved in a major cliffhanger for episode 12. While he wouldn’t say who the character was he teased they were from “‘Grey’s’ past-slash-present.”

Who do you think could be coming back to ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ in season 10?
