What happened when Cristina and Burke were reunited on Grey’s Anatomy season 10, episode 22, “We Are Never Getting Back Together”? Read our recap to find out and discuss with other fans!

Here are the highlights from Grey’s Anatomy season 10, episode 22, “We Are Never Getting Back Together”:

The board runs a meeting to inform Cristina that Dr. Russell (her boss) is leaving the hospital. They believe it has to do with the Harper Avery Award and the fact that it’s come to light that no one at Grey + Sloan Memorial will ever win one.

Richard wants Cristina to appeal the decision but it doesn’t go over well with her. Cristina is tired to hearing about it so Meredith encourages her to accept the invitation to speak in Zurich about her research.

While giving a presentation in Zurich, Cristina is shocked when Preston Burke (her ex-fiance) comes to see her speak. She’s even more surprised to find out that it was his idea to have her come speak. Apparently, Burke has been busy running a hospital in Zurich and invites her to preform a surgery with him that afternoon.

When Burke moves Cristina’s flight home she accuses him of being manipulative but goes to his surgery anyways. Although Cristina doesn’t want to talk about it Burke tells her not to worry about losing the Harper Avery Award. After winning his he felt a great amount of pressure that caused him to burn out.

At first, Cristina isn’t impressed with the surgery Burke is showing him. Until she see’s the real time hologram of the patients heart. She admits that she wants to print a functioning heart but doesn’t think it will happen in Seattle. Burke tells her to do the project there at her hospital. But Cristina is convinced that he is just trying to get back into her life – until he tells her he’s happily married.

Although she acted aloof with Burke she calls Meredith and admits that everything she wants is in Zurich. The only downside is that Burke is there and she doesn’t know what to do. The next day Cristina tells Burke that she can’t accept the job. When he asks why she says she never wants to work for him and that the day he walked away from the wedding was the best thing for her.

Burke admits that the love he had for Cristina was all consuming and he’s worried that she could ruin his marriage if they did work together. That’s why he wants Cristina to take over the hospital so he can move to Milan with his family.

April and Jackson get an ultrasound to confirm the pregnancy. Despite seeing their baby for the first time it’s clear they still have a lot of tension. Although April says she’s happy about the pregnancy she seems surprised to see how excited Arizona is about her baby that’s not even been conceived yet. She feels better about the pregnancy when Jackson tells April that he expects to attend church with her every Sunday.

Amelia and Derek work together again – this time on a case of conjoined twins. The surgery is complicated due to the fact the twins share brain matter. Because of this, some of the other doctors worry about Amelia’s capabilities but Derek backs her up.

In surgery an unexpected clot causes them to change plans. Amelia and Derek end up splitting up to try and save the girls but Derek’s twin doesn’t make it while Amelia’s pulls through.

Back at home, Derek tells Amelia that he wants her to take over the research he started with Callie. That would mean moving to Seattle to work at the hospital. But we don’t see her giving an answer.

Alex drops Jo off at the hospital before heading to work. Jokingly, he tells her that he’s just a phone call away if she needs his help. Despite telling him that she’s perfectly fine on her own she runs into trouble when trying to pull a catheter out of an elderly woman. She panics when Owen finds the patient and takes her up to surgery – blaming her for making the patient worse.

Bailey’s bubble boy suddenly gets better to everyone’s surprise. Stephanie runs labs for Bailey and gets suspicious. She knows what Bailey did and tells her it’s amazing but Bailey doesn’t admit to anything!

Meredith goes to pick up Cristina from the airport. One look at her best friend and she knows that she’s leaving.
