Grey’s Anatomy‘s Dr. Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) was just as saddened by last week’s season finale as most fans. He reflected on the loss of two characters in an interview with Us Weekly.

“I was sad to lose those guys,” Williams told Us Weekly on Sunday, referring to Chyler Leigh (Lexie) and Kim Raver (Teddy). “We love them to death, they’re really, really beautiful people and it was difficult. It was kind of depressing.”

Teddy and Lexie’s exits from the show made Williams question his character’s fate because “Everybody is supposedly leaving, one way or another,” he said, possibly referring to the residents’ new positions around the country.

So what’s to come for the doctors at Seattle Grace in the fall?

“I gave up predicting on that show after my first year,” he said. “I spent my whole first year thinking I knew what the hell I was talking about, and now I just don’t even pretend.”

Williams may have given up on predicting, but do you have predictions for season 9?
