After last week’s Grey’s Anatomy reveal that Seattle Grace is in danger of going bankrupt, Constance Zimmer’s guest role has remained shrouded in mystery until now. The actress is revealing who her character is and what business brings her to the hospital.

With Seattle Grace having to shell out $75 Million to the plane crash victims Meredith, Derek, Cristina, Arizona, and Callie (for Sofia) they are facing bankruptcy. So far only Owen is aware of the impending doom heading their way as the doctors haven’t seemed to think of the consequences their lawsuit could mean for their jobs. In the synopsis for this week’s episode 9×12 “Walking on a Dream” it was revealed that Constance Zimmer’s character would be joining as a medical professional but didn’t specify the reasons.

Now Zimmer is teasing about her character and why she’s coming to Seattle Grace. The Hollywood Reporter reports that Zimmer is playing Dr. Alana Cahill a physician’s adviser that is hired to help the hospital avoid bankruptcy. She is hired because of her connection to a senior staff member that is now disappointed in Cahill for giving up her surgical career.

Zimmer teases that the answer to avoid a bankruptcy will shock the doctors. Derek will be especially surprised since he seemed to head the survivors in going forward with their lawsuit against the hospital. She explains, “She doesn’t want the hospital to close and has to figure out how to do that, how to fix it.”

Saving the hospital will involve a lot of cutting and reshaping the hospital. Cahill will be quite harsh at how Seattle Grace is being run which lead to her character not being received very well. She joked, “People might not like me at first, so I’m just hoping that all those Grey‘s fans aren’t like, ‘We hate you, leave!’ I just want to say to them that I will get better, I promise! You will like me. I will make you like me!”

What do you think Cahill will suggest the hospital do in order to keep it’s doors open?
