Meredith has to deal with DeLuca being caught at her house on Grey’s Anatomy 15×22 and Andy gets some shocking news on Station 19 2×14!

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ 15×22 ‘Head Over High Heels’:

After a sexy visit at Meredith’s house, DeLuca is accidentally caught sneaking out by Zola. Even though Meredith is distraught by this, DeLuca is glad to hear that Meredith was already planning on introducing him to her kids. But now she has to come up with a new game plan.

When Meredith is talking to Bailey about the whole situation later, they’re interrupted by Alex who announces that Jo is back at work. Jo is still looking very unlike herself and doesn’t respond to Bailey’s welcome back though.

Amelia and Link are hoping to be able to help their former patient that became paraplegic during surgery. But since it’s a new treatment with stem cells that’s still being tested they don’t want to get her hopes up, even if theirs already is.

Richard is surprised when an old friend shows up at the hospital. Her case is quite unusual since she somehow stabbed her chest with a high heel!

Even though Jo is back at work, Alex is still super worried about her. Meredith tells him to just give her time and space. She ends up going to work with Jackson, after getting tired of doing her research work.

Owen finally makes it to therapy for the first time in years, but he seems to go into it already thinking that it won’t work. Which doesn’t get passed the therapist at all thanks to Owen’s attitude.

Meredith and DeLuca get a chance to catch up while they’re looking at a patient scans and start to talk about the whole kid situation. DeLuca is happy to hear that Meredith thinks Zola is unbothered by what happened.

But it also brings up her concerns about whether or not DeLuca even likes kids. They have a cute little exchange where he tells her all about his little cousins that have given him plenty of practice.

While they’re working, Amelia ends up telling Tom about her thing with Link. She doesn’t quite understand why she likes him because he’s so different from her usual type. Tom is convinced that they’re both confused by their relationships because the partner is so kind and unbroken.

Amelia is still convinced that Teddy and Owen are going to end up together though. Tom doesn’t believe it even when Amelia tells him the story of how they declared their love for each other in Germany.

Weber is torn when his old friend doesn’t want him on her case. She’s struggling with her alcohol addiction and doesn’t care to have Weber’s opinion on it since her husband has died.

Getting her through surgery though seems to ease the tension in their relationship. Weber is even able to tell her afterwards about how he almost broke his sobriety.

Jo ends up admitting to Jackson that he was right, she shouldn’t have gone looking into her family. Now she feels like she’s thrown all her happiness away and Jackson calls her out on coming into work drunk. The talk doesn’t really seem to help her but he does warn her not to come to the hospital drunk again.

Maggie ends up meeting Jackson in her blue room, after she loses the patient that she tried to save after Nico messed up during his surgery. Even though they both had hard days, Jackson asks Maggie to move in with him.

Seeming to prove Amelia’s point, Teddy texts Owen to see how his therapy went.

Alex confronts Jo when he gets home but it just leads to both of them giving each other ultimatums. Jo tells Alex that she’ll leave him if she ever goes to Pittsburgh to find out what happened. And Alex tells Jo he’ll tell Bailey if she goes to work drunk again.

To close out the episode, there’s a happy moment with Meredith telling her kids about DeLuca.

Grey’s Anatomy 15×22 “Head Over High Heels” packed a heavy punch. There was so much going on with the characters struggling with their own internal conflicts and how it affected the others around them.

It seems like the only happy clouds in the show right now are Amelia and Meredith’s relationships. So it’s nice that the writers mxed that in to lighten the mood as needed.

‘Station 19’ 2×14 ‘Friendly Fire’:

Let’s start the episode with a little workout time! Every time Andy did a sit up I was thinking of every gif I’ve ever seen of people saying, “Now KISS!”. Just kidding, I love her and Sullivan’s friendship. Even if I am shipping them with pretty much every breath.

Ripley and Hughes are exploring every possible option of staying together and going public, including marriage. But not like a real marriage, more like a just-on-paper wedding. So they can both do the jobs they love and stay together.

Meanwhile Warren is crazy focused on his Medic One training. Emphasis on the crazy.

Dean has blind date number 75392 and she is also only going on these dates to please her parents, so that takes the discomfort out of the situation right away. She is also quite the disappointment to her parents, despite having her law degree, since she decided to go into graphic design instead.

Andy drags Sullivan out to do hydrant checks when they see smoke and decide to check it out. They are prepping their gear when a person comes running out for help. He doesn’t know how many people are in the building, but he needs their help to get them out.

They run in to help, put out a couple small hot spots and begin helping a victim from the building when Station 42 comes running in. Dispatch assigned them the call, so it’s time for Andy and Sullivan to vacate the premises. They offer their services to 42’s captain, but he isn’t interested. He does act pretty friendly toward them though, and even gives Sullivan a nickname.

Hughes tells Montgomery about her morning convo with Ripley. He does a spit take when she drops the big M-word. Even though she’s trying to downplay the importance of what marriage could mean for them, Montgomery isn’t fooled. A piece of paper might give them freedom to be a couple in public, but it would also mean they are MARRIED. That’s a big deal.

Miller’s helping Warren study and is trying to sneak in a couple of advice requests with the technical medical-ese. Warren’s not really giving him much help, though.

Did Sullivan just make a move toward re-establishing friendship with Ripley? Ripley clearly needs an ear to vent to about the Hughes drama, but I never believed he’d actually make the first move. I would love to see them be the beer-drinking kind of friends they clearly were before.

Gibson and Andy keep passing each other around the station and every time they do, Andy talks about how much she values their return to friendship. And then she walks in on him and Maya sneaking one last hookup before they tell Andy the truth. Oops. She doesn’t react well, even after she closes the door on them twice.

Andy vents to Sullivan and then alarms go off. Station 19 is needed at the site of the structure fire that Andy and Sullivan checked out earlier. Clearly things escalated there and 42 couldn’t handle it all on their own.

When they arrive on scene, Andy sees her dad working as an EMT. She had no idea, which is par for the course today, nobody tells her anything. While she and Bishop are hooking up hoses to the hydrant, they hear one of the firefighters inside mention flashover. With all the coffee beans they saw stacked in there earlier, Andy knows that flashover in that building is going to mean a nasty blaze if they don’t get it under control now.

Before she and Maya can even get the hoses turned on there is a pretty massive explosion and it knocks both of them on their asses.

19 is the rapid intervention team. They are going in in sets of 4 so that two people can bring found victims out while the others keep looking. Some of the bags of dry beans have reached their combustion temperatures, and can explode at any time, so traversing the building is literally like walking in a minefield.

Warren gets to see Medic One in action as he assesses a firefighter’s third degree burns. He knows what he would do if they were in the ER, but he doesn’t think he could do that procedure in the field. Medic One shows up and does exactly what he just said he would do, and they do it like a couple of badasses. Warren’s definitely gonna be watching their work closely as the day goes on.

The captain for 42 was still running around looking for one of his crew, and he got himself pinned under a fallen beam. The building is no longer structurally sound. The captain of 42 forbids anyone to come in after him, but Ripley is the Chief and he outranks any captain. He’s going in to find his man. Hughes is not happy about it, but Ripley is doing what he has to do.

Ripley finds his downed man, but gets hit by an exploding bag of beans and falls next to him. The next thing we hear is him reporting that they’re on their way out. He wasn’t seriously hurt and he saved the remaining man.

Andy asks Sullivan to let 19 stay and work a double shift. So many people were injured that the companies there could definitely use the help. He grants her permission. He tells Ripley to go take some time off though, since he hasn’t seen a firefight in a while. He also casually mentions that Hughes could probably use a rest, too. Wink wink.

While Pruitt may have started his shift as a private EMT taking crap from the young guy, he ends it barking orders and the young blood rushes to follow them. Classic Pruitt.

Hughes is bursting with adrenaline after having to wait agonizing minutes for Ripley to escape the danger of that fire. They get a semi-private moment (as private as it can be in an active scene) and Hughes starts talking about how she wants real love and the whole thing, not just some sort of arrangement-marriage to keep their jobs safe. And then she proposes. Right there, on the spot. You can tell Ripley is flabbergasted. Pleased, but definitely taken aback a bit too. They agree to meet the next morning at their diner to discuss Hughes’ impromptu declarations… and so Ripley can give her an answer.

Locker room talk back at the station includes Warren geeking out about Medic One and Miller asking whether he should call his new ladyfriend.

Andy and Maya get a moment alone on the catwalk. Andy insists that she’s not jealous. That’s not why she’s upset. She’s humiliated because of the secrets Bishop has been keeping from her.

Cut to Hughes waiting in the diner for Ripley’s arrival. Every time the bell rings, she jumps to attention. Ripley is picking out flowers for Hughes and he runs into Glasses from Grey’s. It seems ominous that Ripley is still coughing from the previous night. Glasses buys Ripley’s flowers for him, and then we cut back to Hughes at the diner.

She pays and takes off when Ripley doesn’t show. Little does she know that he didn’t make it there because he is laying unconscious outside the flower shop. Glasses shouts for someone to call 911.

And that’s the episode. Next week we’re gonna see what is wrong with Ripley, but it looks like he gains consciousness pretty quickly, so hopefully it’s not too bad. It’s bad enough to give us a Grey’s/Station 19 crossover ep, so I’m definitely nervous. And we have to wait 2 whole weeks! We’ll see you back here then!
