Tonight’s TGIT includes Grey’s Anatomy 15×13, and How To Get Away With Murder 5×13. Here’s our thoughts on what happened!

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ 15×13 ‘I Walk The Line’:

Now that Meredith has chosen DeLuca over Link, she needs to figure out how Maggie will feel about the whole situation. For now, DeLuca at least settle for buying Meredith coffee in the morning.

Meredith does try to talk to Maggie as soon as she sees her, but her sister is very distracted by her latest patient. Who just so happens to be the person that bullied her at med school. Which means that Maggie is filled with rage, but also tries to figure out if she can take on the case.

At first, Maggie doesn’t want to do it. Thinking it’s a bad idea because she hates the patient and also because it’s such a high risk.

DeLuca gets impatient and becomes very distracting with all his hotness for Meredith. She tells him that she still needs to talk to Maggie but it seems more like these two are ready to rip their clothes off.

Meredith is adamant about being a good sister, even if DeLuca thinks it’s unnecessary. So she tries to talk to Meredith again who just ends up talking about her surgery. At least Meredith helps her come up with a solution to her surgery and they do it together, successfully.

Finally, once the day is done Meredith is able to talk to Maggie. Who apparently didn’t even hear anything Meredith said earlier in the day. Now that she’s all ears she tells Meredith that DeLuca is a good guy.

With the go ahead from Maggie, Meredith finds DeLuca and they leave for their first real date! Too bad we don’t get to see it.

Meanwhile the whole situation with Owen/Amelia/Teddy/Tom continues to be crazy complicated. Amelia learns that Betty ran away rehab, and just as she goes to leave the hospital Betty’s real parents show up. It turns out that Betty called them before she ran away and the rehab gave them Amelia’s information.

Amelia ends up breaking the news to them about Leo, and they didn’t even know Betty was pregnant before she left. They’re super excited to meet Leo but also upset about what’s going on with Betty. So Amelia tries to help by telling them about her own addiction issues.

Owen ends up getting very upset about the whole situation, knowing they’ll probably want Leo. He ends up opening up to Teddy about what’s going on and even cries to her about it.

Later, Owen also gets in an argument with Betty’s parents when they try to inform him that they’re taking Leo with them to the hotel. Of course Owen gets all fired up and says that he’s the legal guardian so they can’t just take him.

Betty’s parents end up saying they don’t want Leo around another addict, meaning Amelia. So then Owen gets upset at Amelia for telling them about herself and worries it will mean Leo gets taken away. Meanwhile Amelia is confused about why Owen would want to keep Leo from his family.

Elsewhere, Teddy goes to see Tom and tells him that she and Owen are just friends. And they kiss, so I guess this is really a thing now. But she’s also pregnant and this is the most confusing love triangle (love square?) ever.

‘HTGAWM’ 5×13 ‘Where Are Your Parents’:

Throw away everything you thought you knew about How to Get Away With Murder. Tegan Price just became the indisputable Queen. Bonnie took a huge hit for the team in last week’s episode, and Tegan stepped right up to the plate in season 5, episode 13, buying everyone some more time.

There’s been a lot of doom and gloom in the last few episodes of How to Get Away With Murder, and even though this episode was no exception, at least there were a few light hearted moments. Both Christmas parties had at least a small dose of cheer. Whether it came from goofy Christmas sweaters or adorable reminiscing, which apparently deeply inspired everyone at the table. When Ophelia speaks, mountains move. It was so great to have her back in her glory.

She made it clear that there’s no easy way out of any of this for Annalise. Or anyone, for that matter. They have to win their way out. Luckily the governor just handed them some ammunition and a viable, target to place the blame onto. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who heard Emmett Crawford’s name long before it left the governor’s lips. I have really liked him recently, but it felt like that’s where the season was heading. This show does great with reveals that are just shocking enough without being too far out of left field.

The unfortunate thing about Emmett being guilty (if that is, in fact, the case) is that Bonnie and Nate definitely got the wrong man. It’s certainly looking like Bonnie has fully clued into that fact, although it may take Nate a bit longer. I’m so glad Bonnie has Frank to help her through this insane situation. They had some more amazing friendship moments in this episode of How to Get Away With Murder that I hope keep coming.

I’m now convinced that the idea of spousal privilege will be used to help the Keating 5 win this case. I don’t know if it will be Annalise and Nate, Annalise and Tegan, or some other combination of semi-to-fully guilty parties, but I bet you somebody will be walking down the aisle in the How to Get Away With Murder season finale.

After Connor’s mom gave the gang all the feels, it looks like Laurel is starting to make plans to protect herself and Christopher. What would she be willing to do to ensure their safety? After everything they’ve been through, I really hope it doesn’t involve screwing everyone over. More likely, she’d be willing to sell out Gabriel, but at this point, even that would break my heart. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see!
