Tonight’s TGIT includes Grey’s Anatomy 15×03, Station 19 2×01, and How To Get Away With Murder 5×02. Here’s our roundup of what happened!

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ 15×03 ‘Gut Feeling’:

Love isn’t so much in the air on Grey’s Anatomy 15×03 “Gut Feeling.” Ever since Jackson has been questioning his faith, things have been a little off for him. It was having a noticeable strain on his relationship with Maggie, and now he’s decided to take off without warning.

It leaves everyone wondering what’s going on and Maggie is furious he didn’t talk to her about it before leaving. No one even really knows where he is. Maggie’s anger toward Jackson begins to spread to others as well, as she’s less patient than normal.

Meredith may have hired Cece to help her with her love life, but she’s not exactly cooperating. Whenever Cece tries to ask her questions, Meredith is hesitant to answer, though she does admit to Maggie about hiring Cece so she’s not really hiding her desperation to start dating.

Cece ends up sending Meredith on a mission to go shopping. Since she doesn’t want to open up about her past, Cece wants to see Meredith ready for a fresh start. It leads to Meredith and DeLuca having an interesting moment that shows Meredith is still thinking about him.

Amelia wants to know why everyone around her seems to be against her and Owen. Even though they had issues before, Amelia is all in on the relationship despite what others think. Which is why she gets so upset when Linc asks her out and Tom insinuates they might have a chance to hook up again.

Jo is having FOMO when she discovers that working with Bailey isn’t everything she imagined. Bailey is distracted thinking about the hospital running smoothly without her and Jo just wants to talk about her research. She even admits to Meredith that she misses working with her.

Karev is starting out his first day as Chief with some rough situations. Though some of the doctors are a fan of his gut-reaction style, he’s still new at dealing with the crises that pop up at the hospital and not having as much time for his patients.

What starts out looking like a fun job ends up being Karev’s worst nightmare. Problem after problem ruins his mood and he wonders why Bailey didn’t warn him about all the bad parts of the job.

Grey’s Anatomy 15×03 “Gut Feeling” brought the drama again, but the romance was clearly lacking. It’s a bit jarring from the tone of the season premiere, but it’s still setting up Meredith’s new journey. It’s nice to see her heading toward the romance, but a little weird to see it taken away from others so soon in the season.

And while I’m admittedly not a huge fan of Jackson and Maggie as a couple, their current situation is weird. To have Jackson just disappear all of a sudden and leave Maggie full of questions is heartbreaking as a viewer. Now I’m rooting for these two even less, but it’s also because Jackson doesn’t deserve her.

Hopefully next week’s episode will bring back some more fun, flirty elements to keep the mood of the season light.

‘Station 19’ 2×01 ‘No Recovery’:

Station 19 is back, everyone! And we pick up right where we left them last season. Gibson is trapped on a floor of the skyscraper that just exploded. Herrera is a few floors down worried sick over him. Warren is dragging an injured young woman named Molly down the stairs after having to leave Montgomery behind. Fire Chief Ripley has evacuated the building and is trying to keep them all from rushing back in to save their friends.

If you know anything about the crew of Station 19, you know they don’t always listen to orders. Herrera is told to leave the building, as they don’t know if the structure is sound, but, in true Andy fashion, she just HAS to go up a few floors and find Gibson before making her way to fresh air.

While Herrera is heading up, Bishop and Hughes are headed down, and Bishop agrees to go with Herrera so she’s not alone. Hughes heads down and finds Montgomery hanging out unconscious right where Warren left him. He still has a pulse though, so she starts pulling him along behind her as she descends.

While we’re all anxious to see how things are gonna wrap up with the skyscraper, this episode also gave us a glimpse into how all these Station 19 team members met. Andy and Bishop know each other from their first day at the fire academy. Hughes and Montgomery were transferred to Station 19 a few months apart, and Montgomery takes on a mentor role in Hughes’ life. Gibson and Miller’s relationship started out a little contentiously. Watching Miller try to read a little Langston Hughes while an arrogant and cocksure Gibson annoys him is pretty hysterical.

Back in the skyscraper, after a lengthy search, Herrera and Bishop find Gibson still alive. Warren gets his patient down to the ambulance, but she doesn’t make it through surgery. Hughes gets Montgomery down with a little help from Miller, and when she learns that Warren left him behind she gives him more attitude than is necessary. He makes it through surgery and we see him standing with the rest of Station 19 when we learn who will be taking over captain duties. Welcome, Captain Sullivan, to Station 19.

This new captain is definitely going to shake things up. He’s all business and no camaraderie if his attitude in the flashbacks is any conciliation. Herrera will probably take to his style like oil to water, but after watching the rebellious attitudes of everyone during the skyscraper fire, they might just need a little no-nonsense leadership for a while.

All of Station 19 made it out alive, and it seems that any lingering doubts about each other have been squashed in the six weeks that have passed since. It’ll be interesting to see how Gibson and Herrera act toward each other with such a by-the-book leader in charge.

I also can’t wait to see if Chief Ripley plays a significant role this season. His confrontations with not only Herrera and Gibson, but Hughes as well, definitely have me wondering if he might soften a little toward this station as Station 19 charges into its sophomore season.

‘How To Get Away With Murder’ 5×02 ‘Whose Blood is That?’:

Annalise has barely begun to retry her class action cases, but she’s already facing major opposition. Considering these people have all been found guilty before, I imagine she has an uphill battle ahead of her. However, if she keeps fighting like this and if the Keating 5 continue to learn and mature, she should have more wins than losses. What will be interesting is when she ends up working the cases of clients who are guilty.

Unfortunately, Annalise’s class action wins aren’t good enough for Caplan & Gold. After Laurel’s stunt, they’re taking a stand and she’ll have to start putting in more billable hours. Looks like we’ll get to see her take on all types of clients in How to Get Away with Murder season 5.

In more Caplan & Gold news, I really hope Tegan can forgive Michaela at some point in How to Get Away with Murder season 5. She was such a great character and mentor for her last season. Sure, it looks like Annalise will be returning to her role as mentor, but it was amazing watching her and Michaela take on the court together. Just think how much more amazing it would be if all three badass babes were up there together.

For a second there, I thought Frank was hustling hard to make Laurel jealous, but it all seems to be part of his ploy to spy on Gabriel for whoever “the one” is. Seriously, who is “the one,” and equally seriously, please tell me that it was at least a little bit to make Laurel jealous.

Connor’s already picking on Gabriel like he used to pick on Wes, which bodes well for Gabriel becoming part of the inner circle. He seems to be taking it all in stride, and now that he’s in Rebecca’s old apartment, I bet he and Asher will become close friends. Asher’s not exactly in a great place with the team right now though, especially since he’s working for the D.A.

Thanks to Nate and Bonnie being unlikely BFFs, we know where Bonnie’s head is at for the first time in a long time. She actually likes Miller! Of course, Annalise isn’t on board. She seems to always have an opinion on Bonnie’s choices. As much as she trusts her as a colleague, she doesn’t seem to have much faith in her ability to make decisions.

I hope this episode was a breakthrough that will allow the pair to have a more honest and equal relationship going forward. However, given the flash forward and that picture Nate found, maybe Bonnie really shouldn’t be trusted.
