On the Japril centric episode of Grey’s Anatomy fans learned that April is keeping a big secret from Jackson, and it doesn’t look like she plans on telling him anytime soon.
Grey’s Anatomy used an entire episode to fill in the pieces of April and Jackson’s story that fans were missing out on. It started from the present and worked it’s way all the back to their Mercy West days where they started as interns together. It was eye opening, emotional, and interesting to watch.
What really caught the attention of fans, though, was April’s big reveal at the end of the episode. After signing the divorce papers to appease Jackson, April went home where she broke the news to Arizona that she’s pregnant with Jackson’s child. She had known since that morning but purposely kept it a secret from Jackson to see if he would fight for their marriage without that connection between them.
From the flashbacks, it was pretty obvious that April and Jackson had issues with their marriage from the start. They’re just two very different people with very different views, and it meant a lot of compromising. It was Samuel’s death, though, that really ripped them apart. Unable to help each other, everything just fell apart.
Like April tells Arizona, she doesn’t want Jackson to coming back to her just because of a baby. It seems like for the first time in a long time, she’s actually happy and doesn’t want anything to change that. April says she will tell him eventually, but right now wants to keep things free of complication.
I’m also guessing that she’s probably nervous that there could be something wrong this time around and doesn’t want to get Jackson’s hopes up. So it could be a while before we see April tell Jackson, or perhaps he will find out some other way without her actually telling him. Which could mean even more drama than April is anticipating. Either way, this storyline is sure to keep everyone’s interest!
