Greg Berlanti, executive producer for Supergirl and The Flash, confirms involvement in feature film based on the Booster Gold comics.

After much speculation, Greg Berlanti revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that he is in fact working on a Booster Gold project with Warner Bos. Berlanti stated, “I’m attached to a few films [at Warner Bros.] now, and one, Booster Gold, is a DC property. Zack Stentz, who wrote an episode of Flash last year, just got the job, so he’s writing the script now.”

It sounds like the project is still in the early stages and hasn’t even been officially announced by Warner Bros. yet. Berlanti himself doesn’t seem set on how involved he will be in the production of the film explaining, “I’d probably direct that, or I would want to. But I don’t see my cup as limited.”

Fans of his work on television may have cause to worry as the producer hinted that he would like to do more directing in the future. While it’s clear that he enjoys being a showrunner it’s also quite time consuming. “I’m a dad now, and I’m starting to think about my life differently in terms of how much time I’m going to have,” he explained. “When you direct a film, you have a couple years between movies, and I’d have more time to be with my family.”

Booster Gold definitely has the chance to lighten up the dark mood that many movies based on DC comics have shown. The superhero is known for being a showboat that constantly seeks glory by using his knowledge from the future to save the day. He’s also been a member of the Justice League, so there’s always potential for him to join them in the movies as well.

Are you glad to hear that ‘Booster Gold’ is in development at Warner Bros.?
