Green Day previewed both The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 and the band’s upcoming album, ¡Tre!, in the new video for “The Forgotten.”

Debuting on MTV Tuesday night, “The Forgotten” is a slower jam than the previously released singles from ¡Uno! – “Oh Love” and “Kill The DJ” – but has a similar sound to the songs featured on the Breaking Dawn – Part 1 soundtrack.

“When we were asked to be part of the Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 soundtrack, we readily agreed because the films are an insane cultural phenomenon, and we have always been impressed with the way the Twilight soundtracks are so carefully curated,” bassist Mike Dirnt told Yahoo of the band’s unlikely involvement in the soundtrack.

“The Forgotten” is the first music video released in promotion of the Breaking Dawn – Part 2 soundtrack, which will also feature contributions from Ellie Goulding and Passion Pit, as well as Rosalie actress Nikki Reed and her husband – American Idol alum Paul McDonald. It is also the second taste of the Bay-area band’s final installment in its album trilogy, ¡Uno!¡Dos!¡Tre!. The first being “99 Revolutions” from The Campaign soundtrack.

“Where in the world did the time go?/ It’s where your spirit seems to roam/ Like losing faith to our abandoned/ Or an empty hallway from a broken home/ Don’t look away from the arms of a bad dream/ Don’t look away sometimes you’re better lost than to be seen,” Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong sings as video of the band’s live recording is interspersed with clips from the upcoming movie.

Breaking Dawn – Part 2 hits theaters Nov. 16 with the soundtrack and Green Day’s ¡Dos! out just days before on Nov. 13. ¡Tre! will follow on Dec. 11.
