Green Day lead singer, Billie Joe Armstrong, will make his return to theater next year when he lends his song writing skills to Yale Repertory Theater’s newly unveiled production, “These Paper Bullets.”

According to an article featured in the New York Times, “These Paper Bullets” will give a modern rock ‘n’ roll twist to Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing and is slated to have its world premiere sometime in March 2014.

The plot of the production will revolve around a band from Liverpool living in London and their trials and tribulations with romance and the music industry.

As many Green Day fans know, Armstrong is no stranger to writing music for theater. The rock ‘n’ roll frontman was a key player in getting 2010’s Broadway musical, American Idiot into production.

The musical, which featured songs from Green Day’s 2004 album of the same name, went on to win a variety of awards, including two Tony Awards in 2010 (Best Scenic Design of a Musical, Best Lighting Design of a Musical), and a Grammy Award in 2011 for Best Musical Show Album.

Fans of Green Day can catch the band on tour now through this summer at cities across the U.S. and in the U.K.
