The 2014 Grammy Awards had countless memorable performances (we’re not just saying that), but Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ “Same Love” may’ve stolen the show.

During the performance, featuring openly gay singer, Mary Lambert (who also appears on the studio version of the hit single), Queen Latifah took the stage to announce that thirty-three couples were getting married right then, right there.

“We are gathered here to celebrate love and harmony in every key and every color,” Latifah said. “As I look out on this audience I’m delighted to see the faces of thirty-three couples who’ve chosen this moment to celebrate their vows here with us in Los Angeles, and everyone watching around the world as witnesses.”

As Latifah finished her short speech and pronounced all the couples married, Madonna walked out to perform a small bit of “Open Your Heart,” while the band continued playing “Same Love’s” instrumentals.

Madonna and Latifah are both strong supporters of the gay community.

Ryan Lewis said later that his sister was one of the people who got married during the song.

Daft Punk won Album of the Year at the 2014 Grammys, while Song of the Year went to Lorde for “Royals.” See a complete list of winners in our previous report.
