Benedict Samuel, who played the Owen on The Walking Dead, has joined the cast of Gotham season 3 as Mad Hatter!
It looks like Benedict Samuel will be returning to our television screens once again. This time Samuel will be playing Mad Hatter on Gotham season 3 when it returns in the fall. According to TV Line the character (who also goes by the name of Jervis Tetch) is a talented hypnotist that also happens to be on the edge of madness. When Mad Hatter comes to the city his mission is to find his sister Alice who went missing years ago. Searching for her however, might just be the thing to send him into complete madness.
This isn’t too far off from Samuel’s character on The Walking Dead who seemed to focus solely on killing others. His group, The Wolves, became known for luring other survivors into traps before killing them, taking their supplies, and then using them as bait. One of their traps nearly killed fan favorite Daryl. But the group seemed to think they were actually helping others by “freeing” them. Owen seemed to redeem himself at the end when he sacrificed himself to save Denise.
Fans may also recognize Samuel from Secret City, The Beautiful Lie, or Home and Away.
