Gotham just aired its second episode of the season, “Selina Kyle,” and it brought us some epic moments! Check out our recap and let us know what you thought!

Right or Wrong

Bruce gets caught by Alfred burning his hand over a candle while Selina is in an alley observing a bunch of homeless people getting approached by Pattie and Doug, from the Mayor’s “homeless outreach program.” Pattie, though, starts injecting all of them and they each fall down, and Doug kills one and chases another down the street.

The next day Gordon is investigating the murder of the one homeless man Doug shot, and Selina is watching. Bullock and Gordon talk to the officer who was the first responder, who wasn’t where he was supposed to be, and claims the homeless guy jumped through the window on his own accord. In a visit to the homeless guy at the precinct, though, he tells them what happened and that it’s happened before. Bullock thinks the kid murdered the other one, but he says they should ask Cat. Bullock and Gordon get into another argument about doing what’s right and what’s more convenient.

Outside of Gotham, Penguin tries to get a ride by hitch hiking but the guys keep pulling ahead and faking him out. Eventually he gets into the car. They ask him what happened, and he says it was a fallout but he’ll be back. Then, the guy in the passenger seat says he looks like a penguin when he walks. Penguin gets pissed, breaks a beer bottle, and stabs him in the neck.

She Wants Him Dead

In a meeting with the captain, Bullock and Gordon try to talk their own cases, but then Edward Nigma comes in with a report on the dead homeless guy and says he had a knockout drug in his system. The captain wants them to keep the press quiet while Gordon thinks they should warn the public. Bullock realizes the crime happened on Fish Mooney’s turf, and he’s wondering if she’s still mad at them.

At Fish Mooney’s place, Falcone visits her. He tells her that the death of the Waynes is putting everything out of control, and he tells Mooney he knows she wants to take him out. She tells him that he’s like a father to her, though, and he says he’s happy to hear. He asks about her lover, and she introduces him to Lazlo, who he then takes him away from her.

Renee Montoya and Crispus Allen then meet with Oswald’s mother, who says there was a woman who had beef against him. Next, Mooney is talking with Butch and she says she swears she’s going to kill Falcone with her bare teeth while he holds her shoes. She wishes Penguin was still alive because she wishes he suffered even more, while they show Penguin renting a trailer from a guy in a farm.

Elsewhere, the homeless kids from earlier in the episode wake up in a room with other kids just like them, and there’s a strange deep hole in the middle of the ground.

Gordon and Bullock show up at Fish Mooney’s, and they tell her they’re looking for a middle aged man and woman who are abducting children. She says there’s a new buyer overseas who will take anyone young and healthy, and they don’t have to be pretty but no one knows why and no one wants to know. At home Gordon has dinner with Barbara, and she ends up anonymously tipping the police about the case. The next day the department is pissed the story is in the paper, and the captain wants to know who leaked it.

Pattie and Doug talk to the guy keeping the kids in his basement and providing them with the drugs when Bullock and Gordon show up to investigate and Pattie answers at the front. They tell the guy they have a warrant to check the place, and it ends up in a shoot off with Pattie and Doug getting away. But all is not lost! Gordon manages to get to the kids before they’re shot.

Almost Away

The mayor has a press conference and says they’ve started a new tough love program for the homeless kids in the city. The young ones get sent to foster homes and the older ones end up going to prison, and Gordon doesn’t like it.

Alfred visits Gordon at the police department and asks him to visit Bruce the next day, because he respects Gordon and Alfred has never had children before.

Selina is giving the officers trouble when they try to send her upstate, but then Pattie gets on the bus and she tries to run but doesn’t make it.

Kitty Claws

When told about the kids getting taken by the snatchers, the Mayor is pissed, obviously. Bullock and Gordon go to interrogate the guy giving Pattie and Doug the drugs, and he tells them there was a logo of a plate and fork on the truck Pattie and Doug drove. Gordon figures out the logo was actually a trident, for the Trident shipping company.

Pattie and Doug go to put the kids in a gigantic metal crate but Selina stays on the bus, and when Pattie goes to investigate Selina manages to evade her and get away. A guard comes by saying he got scratched by a girl, and he’s totally blind, so Pattie shoots him. Gordon shows up in time to save Selina from Pattie, but the rest of the kids are gone.

No One Believes the Penguin

Alfred tells Gordon that Bruce is hurting himself, and when asked if he’s seeing a psychiatrist Alfred says that’s a rule that Bruce’s father left before he died: No shrinks. Bruce comes in and talks to Gordon, and says he’s fine, he’s just testing himself. But Bruce wants to help Gordon and the rest of the kids, and offers to pay for new clothes.

At the precinct, Selina says that she has a mom alive somewhere and she can’t be sent upstate and wants someone to let her talk to Gordon. They do just that after she manages to play them a little bit. Gordon shows up and Selina offers something that he wants in order for him to get her out. She tells him she saw the guy who killed the Wayne’s.

Penguin is in his trailer and he actually has one of the kids left alive for ransom, but his mom doesn’t believe him.
