The news that Selina was a witness to the Wayne murder is leaked on Gotham season 1, episode 10, “Lovecraft.” Read our recap to find out what happened!
Security breach
Selina makes herself useful by teaching Bruce how to balance. She still seems to be obsessed with kissing him, but Bruce thinks she has an ulterior motive.
An assassin makes her way onto the Wayne Manor premises and attacks the gardener. She uses the gardener’s blood to make it look like she had been in a car accident. But as soon as she sees Bruce and Selina, her whole demeanor changes and Alfred tells them to run for it. As he tries to fend off the assassins, Selina helps Bruce make a getaway.
Gordon arrives at the manor to get Alfred’s report on what happened. Alfred is convinced the assassins are after Selina. Bullock shows up with a picture of Selina that was on one of the assassins Alfred managed to shoot. That means Gordon has to come clean about Dent’s plan.
Selina is convinced the assassins were after Bruce. Her plan is to hide him safely in the city. But when Selina gets Bruce to a phone she goes to leave. She knows that the assassins were after her and thinks Bruce will be fine. Selina also breaks the news that she never planned to testify in the case of the Wayne murder. She tries to lose him but Bruce manages to stay with her even when she jumps from one building to another.
Falcone is not happy that his money was taken and thinks Maroni was behind it. Oswald tries to convince him that it wasn’t Maroni, but Falcone thinks he’s lying. So Oswald says it’s clear there is a mole in his ranks and will find it.
Falcone decides to hold a meeting of his own with his allies. He shoots the man in charge of keeping the armory safe. Mooney looks a little shaken. Falcone tells them that the tariffs will increase until they can make their money back.
A plan unraveled
Gordon goes to see Dent and tells him that Dick Lovecraft it missing. Dent has Montoya and Allen watching his office in case he shows up. Even though the children are in trouble, Dent thinks this is a win. It shows that they scared Lovecraft. What Gordon can’t figure out is how Lovecraft found out. Dent admits he leaked Gordon’s name to some sources to make his threat to Lovecraft more tangible.
Bullock and Alfred go to visit Mooney and ask about Selina. But Butch tells that them Mooney is busy. Alfred uses his impressive moves to pull one over on Butch. Mooney shows up and says she heard Selina was being used to scare Lovecraft. Alfred is able to smooth talk Mooney into helping them.
Selina brings Bruce to a flea market where the street kids hang out. Ivy is there as well and tells them she escaped from an adoption after her mother killed herself. Selina gets a little freaked out by Ivy and quickly whisks Bruce away.
Gordon finds Lovecraft hiding out in a condo. He says he’s there because the assassins came after him too. Lovecraft wants to prove his innocence but there’s no need because the assassins show up again. Gordon tries to protect Lovecraft but is no match for them.
The mess gets bigger
Later, Gordon is awoken by a phone call from Bullock. They know where Selina is and are on their way. Gordon finds Lovecraft dead in the bathroom.
Selina and Bruce go to see her buyer Clyde, but he’s the sketchiest guy ever. He wants to offer her $50 for thousands of dollars worth of loot. Selina isn’t a pushover, so she tells him no. Clyde won’t let them go though and says his friends are on their way for her. So now we know who gave up her location to the assassins.
When the assassins show up to take Selina, she manages to attack them and escape the confinement. Bullock and Alfred show up and start kicking ass. Bruce makes a run for it to distract the assassins from Selina. Gordon shows up in time to save Bullock.
The woman assassin corners Bruce and asks where Selina is. Even though he can see her slipping out a window, Bruce says she’s already gone. Alfred finds them and the assassin slips away. Alfred is just happy to see Bruce safe and they hug it out.
Back at GCPD, the Mayor is enraged that Lovecraft is dead. Gordon says to tell the truth that Lovecraft was a crook. But the Mayor decides to tell the press that it was suicide. Dent agrees to go with the Mayor’s plan, much to Gordon’s disapproval. He also reveals that he plans to make Gordon the scapegoat. Gordon’s response: “Mayor James, kiss my ass!”
To make it look like Gordon is being taken care of, the mayor decides to send him to work at Arkham. Bullock thinks that Gordon should just quit. The old partners agree to meet again for drinks.
Selina slips back into Wayne Manor to see Bruce. She said she never got to say goodbye, and she brings back the loot that she stole from his house to keep their relationship honest. But she does steal one more thing — a kiss. Alfred comes in, so Selina leaves, and the butler admits that the house is quiet without her.
