Barbara Kean has been one of the best parts of Gotham season 2, and in celebration of her freedom from Arkham here are her highlights from “Pinewood.”

If you read my review of Gotham 2×18, “Pinewood,” then you already know that Barbara’s behavior is puzzling to me. That doesn’t make her any less entertaining though. Despite saying that she is now totally sane, Barbara hasn’t gone back to the personality we’re used to seeing in season 1 (thankfully).

Instead of going back to her old personality, Barbara seems to have merged the two. She appears to be sincere, but then again she could just be acting really well. Yet when Barbara was acting as a criminal it was pretty obvious that she was evil.

So is she good or bad now? I have no idea. So lets just enjoy all of her fun moments from Gotham 2×18, “Pinewood,”:

Freaking Bullock out

At the start of the episode Barbara went to see Gordon and plea her case to him. She clearly wants forgiveness but no one’s about to forget all she did. Especially Bullock who was totally freaked out when he saw her leaving Gordon’s apartment. Instead of explaining herself she simply said that Jim would catch him up.

Sassy Barbara

Despite Gordon turning down her help, Barbara decided to show up at the club and help him locate The Lady anyways. Since she knows Gordon so well, Barbara figured he would just show up and try to force his way in. Barbara is a bit better at planning things out though, and has something better in mind. But not before she reminds him that he treated her badly once too.

Tricking The Lady

Barbara knew that she had to prove herself to The Lady before she could get anything out of her. So she delivered Gordon right to The Lady without telling Gordon. He thought that Barbara had turned on him so easily. He didn’t know that it was all part of her plan. As soon as The Lady gave up the information Gordon needed Barbara turned around and tasered them. Even if Barbara is good again, she’s still bad ass.

“You didn’t see the monster.”

In this moment it seemed like Barbara was really opening up to Gordon. Some may wonder why she’s still chasing after him, yet their connection is undeniable. Wether or not she’s telling the truth remains to be seen, but it was touching none the less.

Back to Tabitha

This moment was less touching. Barbara bounced from one ex to another in what felt like a blink of the eye. I’m hoping that this is just part of some larger plan and I’m not willing to put her back in the bad guy category just yet.
