Gotham season 2, episode 10, “The Son of Gotham,” just finished airing. Read our recap and find out what happened when Bruce tried to get to the truth.

It looks like Bruce and Selina have become friends once again, as she is trying to help him get to the truth about his parents. Since the file containing the name of the killer was burned when Galavan was arrested, Bruce hopes to learn it straight from the source.

While Selina is hiding in a tree, Bruce tells Silver that he needs her help. He wants to work with Galavan and get the name that was promised to him before. His offer is to get Galavan out of jail in exchange for the name. Silver doesn’t seem to think her uncle will be going to jail but agrees to help Bruce anyway, so she tells him to meet her after school.

When Bruce does go to meet her after school, a van stops in front of him. Inside they have Silver tied and gagged and tell Bruce to come with them. From there they go to some abandoned warehouse outside of town. The thugs tell Bruce and Silver that no one will hear them scream.

Bruce thinks the board at Wayne Enterprises must have hired them, and the thugs only want to learn what Galavan has told them. When the thugs threaten to cut off Bruce’s fingers if Silver doesn’t tell them what she knows, Silver says her uncle never told her anything. Instead, she was instructed to keep him busy until her uncle could come find them.

When the thugs return some time later with a bloody knife, Silver continues to say that she doesn’t know anything. After that doesn’t work, she threatens them and says her uncle will go after anyone that hurts them. Finally when the blade is pressed against her, Silver admits that she does know the name and says it’s someone called M. Malone.

Silver is then shocked to see Bruce walk out of the other room, unharmed, with Selina by his side. It turns out they set up the whole thing and the thugs are actually associates of Selina. Bruce reveals that Selina had brought him to Silver’s apartment where he found a file on himself that proved she was only pretending to like him in order to help her uncle. Silver can’t believe that Bruce would do this to her, but he reassures her that this is who he is now.

Later, when they’re on their own, Selina tells Bruce she’s glad he’s changing, but not to change too much. We agree it’s good he’s coming to terms that sometimes you have to be dirty to do something good. We’re also glad to see Selina and Bruce working together again, and it seems like the mutual crush might even be back.

What we’re not sure is how Bruce will get out of the next problem he has, which is that Galavan shows up at Wayne manor. Since his name is cleared, he’s back in charge of the city and has had Gordon taken and ready to be killed. Now Galavan is ready to kill Bruce himself. We’ll have to wait until next week when the mid-season finale airs to find out, though.

What do you think will happen with Bruce next week on ‘Gotham’?
