Smash has a new showrunner for season 2, and he comes from a five-year stint with The CW’s Gossip Girl.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Josh Safran – an executive producer and showrunner for Gossip Girl – will replace Theresa Rebeck as Smash‘s new showrunner.
Rebeck stepped down in March but will remain as a writer and executive producer.
