The body of Glee star Naya Rivera has been found in a California lake where she went missing last week.

Update (Monday, July 13): The Ventura County Sheriff’s office has announced that the body discovered this morning was that of Naya Rivera. They were able to confirm it was her through visual clues, and will be conducting an autopsy.

Original story (July 9): On Wednesday afternoon, Rivera’s 4-year-old son Josey was found sleeping on a boat in California’s Lake Piru and told authorities he had been swimming with his mother, but she never returned to the boat. Authorities have been searching the lake since Wednesday. After calling the search off last night, the investigation resumed Thursday morning.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office classified the search as a possible drowning:

Rivera, who’s 33 years old, appears to have only been with her son, who is her only child.

According to TMZ, “We’re told Rivera’s life jacket was still in the boat and Josey was asleep when the boat was first found. Josey is okay and is now with family members.”

Rivera played Santana Lopez on Fox’s Glee. This article will be updated with more information as it becomes available.
