As we approach the Spring Premiere of Glee season 5 with episode 9 “Frenemies,” Fox has released the first six stills from the episode.

The synopsis for Glee season 5, episode 9 says that Santana (Naya Rivera) will audition for and “snags the role of Rachel’s (Lea Michele) understudy in ‘Funny Girl,’ causing a feud between the roommates. Meanwhile, back in Lima, Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz) and Artie (Kevin McHale) compete against each other to be the class valedictorian.”

The stills from “Frenemies” depict the plot line between Santana and Rachel depicted above, while photos looking at McKinley show Tina, Artie, Blaine, and younger students. See ’em all in the gallery below:

As we previously reported, episode 9 will feature the following performances: “Don’t Rain On My Parade” by Santana from Funny Girl, “I Believe In A Thing Called Love” by The Darkness and performed by Kurt and Starchild, “Whenever I Call You Friend” by Kenny Loggins sung by Artie and Tina, “Breakaway” by Kelly Clarkson performed by Artie, Blaine, and Tina, and Sara Bareilles’ “Brave” sung by Rachel and Santana.

Artie and Tina will also perform Kenny Loggins and Stevie Nicks’ “Whenever I Call You Friend” and En Vogue’s “My Lovin’ (You’re Never Gonna Get It).”

As of the Spring Premiere, the show will be returning to its original timeslot of Tuesdays at 8 p.m. Glee season 5, episode 9 “Frenemies” airs Tuesday, February 25 at 8 p.m. eastern/pacific on Fox.

Episode 8 aired December 5 (titled “Previously Unaired Christmas”), so Gleeks have been waiting a while for the show to resume.
