The first batch of photos from Glee season 5, episode 8 titled “Puppet Master” have been released, and they depict New Directions in Ohio and Kurt and Rachel performing in New York City.
In three of the photos we see activity at McKinley where Jake is doing a couple different numbers. In one, Marley is at his side. Another photo at the school shows Sue, and a caption states that she will reveal the story “behind her iconic tracksuit.” Two other stills depict Unique, Sue, and Mr. Schuester having private conversations.
Across a few states in New York, we see Kurt and his band (with Rachel, Santana, and Adam Lambert’s Starchild) performing for a nighttime audience.

Reads the episode’s official synopsis, “Blaine believes he has the best plan to win Nationals, but he doesn’t take the glee club’s criticism too well when the students accuse him of being too controlling. Over in New York, Kurt also runs into control issues when the band disagrees over the venue of their first official gig that Kurt booked. Meanwhile, Sue reveals the story behind her iconic tracksuit and gets in touch with her feminine side.”
Songs to be performed on the episode include Fred Astaire’s “Cheek to Cheek,” Madonna’s “Into The Grove,” and Queen’s “You’re My Best Friend.” This episode reportedly has lots of puppets, as teased by Darren Criss and Ryan Murphy on Twitter a couple weeks ago.
Glee season 5, episode 8 airs Thursday, November 28 (Thanksgiving night) at 9 p.m. eastern/pacific on Fox.
