Following tonight’s new episode of Glee (season 5, episode 2), Fox unveiled a first look at the Cory Monteith/Finn Hudson tribute episode “The Quarterback.”

Watch below:

Earlier today we learned that the special episode will include the following songs performed by the Glee season 5 cast:

– Seasons Of Love (Rent)
– I’ll Stand By You (The Pretenders)
– Fire and Rain (James Taylor)
– If I Die Young (The Band Perry)
– No Surrender (Bruce Springsteen)
– Make You Feel My Love (Bob Dylan, covered by Adele)

Also today series creator Ryan Murphy shared new comments about filming the episode. Most notably, Murphy said that many scenes we’ll see in “The Quarterback” were first take shots. In other words, the reactions you see from the cast are the true emotions they were conveying as they performed the scenes for the first time.

“I think what we’ll see in the episode is what really happened,” he said to the Huffington Post. “Brad [Falchuk] and Ian [Brennan] and I wrote that episode and Brad directed it, and those performances that you’ll see … almost everything in that episode is from the first take of every performance. The actors and the crew had a really hard time shooting it. I’ve never seen a crew that you can’t continue shooting because they’ve left the room sobbing. It was very hard.

“The Quarterback” will air Thursday, October 10 at 9 p.m. eastern/pacific on Fox and is undoubtedly one of the highest-anticipated episodes.
