New Directions is coming to an end on Glee season 5, episode 12, “100.” Check out our recap as well as the promo for next week’s episode.

We open up the 100th episode of Glee with our two favorite divas, Rachel and Mercedes, having internal monologues about how they can’t believe there are no posters or banners welcoming back the biggest stars the school has ever produced. They go on with fits of jealousy over each others successes but Kurt sets them straight and forces them to give cold congratulations to each other. Oh boy, we love it already.

Apparently this is the 100th lesson given by Will, who wants the club to reinvent some songs they sang in the past. In honor of this, Will welcomes back everyone’s favorite little klepto, April Rhodes. The club begins to sing “Raise Your Glass” by Pink as they pass out champagne flutes full of sparkling apple cider as a toast to the club. Choosing now to add some continuity, Blaine adds that it was actually the Warblers who sang the song originally.

Puck’s internal monologue is all about change and growth, that is, until he runs into Quinn. After trying to getting his flirt on, we get introduced to Quinn’s boyfriend, Biff McIntosh. Puck is a bit taken aback to find out that Quinn has never mentioned him or anything about her past for that matter.

Santana walks in on Brittany trying to prove the Raymond Hypothesis because she has the “most gifted mind in a generation.” Brittany discusses how much she misses her old life and Santana suggests a little reunion of the Unholy Trinity. The three girls slip into their Cheerio’s uniforms and bust into “Toxic” by Britney Spears. While the dance was pretty hot and not to mention super sexy, it didn’t seem to garner much attention from Biff. What gives man?

It doesn’t seem like Brittany can get her mind back into dancing and decides she needs to only channel her energy into math and “Fondue For Two.” On this episode of “Fondue For Two” our genius is interviewing both Rachel and Mercedes. Brittany stirs up trouble and both guests realize they want to sing “Defying Gravity” and decide the only way to settle this is in a diva-off, AKA our favorite way to settle any argument.

That night, the gang is all out to dinner at Breadsticks. Biff is going off on how poor people are uglier than rich people. In order to learn more about Quinn, Biff begins a bit of digging by asking all of her friends to describe her. He doesn’t seem to be able to handle it as “she came in with pink hair” quickly turned into “she lit a purple piano on fire.” Quinn sends Biff away and let’s her friends in on her plan to keep her old life a secret in order to make a good impression.

The next day, Rachel, Mercedes and Kurt all sing their rendition of “Defying Gravity” by Wicked (in front of Kristen Chenoweth!) in order to answer “who is the true star of the glee club.” Basically, they all kill it of course and the addition of Amber Riley’s voice only makes it better than before.

Outside, Brittany is taking part in a life-size game of chess because it is her only creative outlet. In order to help get her out of her rut, Santana wants to do a number together. Brittany doesn’t want to do it but Santana starts up with “Valerie” by The Zutons to coax her onto the floor. It doesn’t take much convincing or fantastic dancing from Mike Chang to get Brittany up out of her seat. The girls give a great and fun performance and it looks like Brittany might finally be remembering how much fun she used to have.

For Puck’s number, he takes to group into the auditorium and sings a beautiful and romantic version of “Keep Holding On” by Avril Lavigne. He also has the whole club join in as he serenades Quinn who gets very emotional and begins to sob. Despite her crying, Quinn insists she loves her boyfriend and walks away.

In an effort to save the glee club, April and Will discuss plans to move the club to the auditorium since April was the one funding the auditorium. Sue, however, is able to shut down their plan real fast since April’s funding has run out both in the school and in her life.

It’s finally time to vote, but before it goes down, Santana makes a big speech about how awful Rachel Berry is. She even takes is a step too far, by telling Rachel that the reason she won prom queen was because she and Quinn stuffed the ballot box. We guess they haven’t mended their friendship after all.

The confrontation was a rough one, but it leads to a really beautiful moment between Rachel and Mercedes in the bathroom.

Out by the busses, we see Quinn try to explain her past to Biff who isn’t taking any of the news lightly. After the reveal of her and Puck’s baby, he calls her a “dirty little slut” and then all hell breaks loose. A fight breaks out and Biff ends up in the dumpster.

In the choir room, Rachel and Mercedes offer to end the competition but Will let’s them know that they are equally talented because they tied in votes.

In an effort to make up for giving the club – and Will – false hope, April invites Holly Holliday to grace the club with her presence. She let’s them in on her whereabouts dropping in on classes unannounced to teach lessons. Did anyone else burst out laughing when you saw Gwyneth Paltrow in that balding wig?

Holly starts to sing “Happy” by Pharrell because she refuses to look back and sing old songs. Did you like this or would you rather have seen “Dog Days Are Over” performed again instead?

Quinn and Puck are in the boys locker room, looking in on Finn’s jersey. While talking about soul mates, Quinn reveals that she sent Biff home without her. Puck tells her that her loves her and he wants her to tell him to stay.

While this is all happening, Santana encourages Brittany to leave M.I.T. and Brittany leans over and kisses Santana. Santana stops it, saying it took her too long to get over her. Brittany on the other hand says that she is finally ready to be with her and that nothing, not even Dani, can recreate what they have.

We see Puck walk through the MicKinley halls and Quinn runs to catch him. They kiss and she tells him to stay.

At the end of the episode, Will brings the club to the auditorium to show them where Finn’s plaque will stay forever. April and Holly look on from the rafters and vow to each other that after they finish their wine they will save the glee club.
