Glee has released another snippet of this Thursday’s fall premiere “Love, Love, Love,” showing Rachel at her Broadway callback and featuring two major guest stars!

At the end of Glee season 4, we left Rachel Berry with her dream role of Fanny Brice dangled right in front of her lovely, Streisand-esque nose: from open casting calls, Rachel made it through to the final few stages of the audition process and the possibility of Broadway is now so close that she can probably taste it.

In this clip from Glee season 5, episode 1 “Love, Love, Love,” we see Rachel reading for the part of Fanny. Unfortunately, neither the director nor her scene partner seem overly enthusiastic, which seems to dishearten the wannabe leading lady.

Despite her dismay, Rachel Berry wouldn’t be Rachel Berry if she didn’t grab every chance presented to her, so she uses the opportunity to compliment the actor she’d been reading with – an unnamed Broadway star of some note, it seems. In what must be a clever in-joke, she waxes lyrical about his run as Lancelot in Camelot, as the unnamed star is played by Welsh actor Ioan Gruffudd. Gruffudd reached international recognition in 2004’s King Arthur, playing – no prizes for guessing – Lancelot.

The director conducting Rachel’s audition is also an actor of note – Peter Facinelli, probably best known to fandom-y types as Carlisle Cullen in the Twilight films. Facinelli currently stars as a regular on Showtime’s Emmy award winning Nurse Jackie.

It’s unknown how long Facinelli and Gruffudd will be sticking around on Glee and whether they will become major parts of Rachel’s season 5 arc. If her audition is successful – even if she achieves an understudy role – we’re sure to be seeing a lot of her life in the theater.

Would you like to keep either of these actors as part of Rachel’s story? Do you think she’s going to get the part?

Glee returns with “Love, Love, Love” this Thursday, September 26 at 9pm ET on Fox.
