Since Friday the cast of Glee season 5 have been shooting the Cory Monteith/Finn tribute episode which will be the show’s farewell to the actor and character.

Since then, a few details surrounding the episode have surfaced. First off, actress Lea Michele shared this photo of a Finn necklace that she’s wearing during the episode:

Michele was Monteith’s real life girlfriend.

We’re also learning the title of Glee season 5, episode 3: “The Quarterback.” The title is referring to Finn who was a quarterback for the McKinley Football team.

In addition, two actresses who aren’t regularly involved with the show have confirmed they’ll appear during the tribute. One is Dot Marie-Jones, who earlier this year said she wasn’t sure how much she would appear in season 5. The other is Romy Rosemont who plays Carole Hudson-Hummel. The latter is Finn’s mother.

Given the return of a couple “old” characters, it’s probable that the tribute will feature a funeral scene where as many people from Finn’s past will return for brief appearances. We’re sure that the actors who attend the taping of the episode and appear will not only want to do it because they were asked, but also because they want to say goodbye to their real life friend.

Glee season 5 kicks off Thursday, September 26 at 9 p.m. eastern/pacific on Fox. The first two episodes of the season will be Beatles-centric tributes while episode 3 will be the goodbye to Finn.
