Fox has released the first photos from Glee season 5, episode 8, titled “Previously Unaired Christmas.”

Glee’s lost Christmas episode was teased in October by Ryan Murphy, and in a later interview co-star Darren Criss played equally coy when asked about its chances of being released.

A synopsis for Glee season 5, episode 8 reads “Sue Sylvester introduces the episode as a Christmas special that FOX did not allow to air from last year. The members of New Directions audition for roles in McKinley’s living Nativity Scene. Meanwhile in New York, Rachel, Kurt and Santana work as Santa’s elves at a mall.”

Notably, this is Glee’s fall finale before it moves to Tuesdays beginning in February.

The photos from the episode don’t show the actual special. Instead, they depict the other half of the synopsis during which Rachel, Kurt, and Santana work at a mall. They also spend some time caroling in a store window front.

Glee season 5, episode 8’s song list is as follows:

– “Here Comes Santa Claus (Down Santa Claus Lane)” (Rachel / Kurt & Santana)
– “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” (New Directions)
– “Mary’s Little Boy Child” (Unique & Tina)
– “The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don’t Be Late)” (Rachel / Kurt / Santana & Cody)
– “Love Child” (Unique / Marley & Tina)
– “Away In A Manger” (New Directions Featuring Rachel / Kurt & Santana)

Despite a line up of Christmas songs, there won’t be a holiday album this year. Surely these songs will still hit iTunes as an EP, meaning you will get holiday songs from the show.

Glee’s Christmas episode airs Thursday, December 5 at 9 p.m. eastern/pacific on Fox.
