Uh oh, this doesn’t sound good. There are reports that Glee’s most important people, Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan may possibly not be returning to Glee in season 5.

According to E! News, Glee season 5 is in a bit of a stand still at the moment regarding renewal because Fox isn’t sure if show runners Ryan Murphy, Ian Brennan and Brad Falchuk – affectionately known as RIB in fandom – will be returning to run, produce and write the show in season 5.

This is somewhat big news for the fandom as these three, and executive producer Dante DiLorento have been the driving force behind Glee’s breakout success.

Last year by this time, Glee fans had already rejoiced in the news that Glee was returning for a fourth season despite a lackluster season 3.

It looks like a renewal for season 5 will come down to the wire, as most other Fox shows have already been renewed for weeks.

Glee season 4 has been a critical hit for fans of the show, with numbers and ratings pretty much the same as they were last year.

What are your thoughts about Ryan Murphy and company potentially leaving Glee to the hands of someone else? Could this possibly be what Glee needs: new showrunners to freshen up the vibe and story line?
